Trendsetters, Race-goers and Watch Connoisseurs Gathered for Celebration

  

 

On 20th October 2019, the Sha Tin Racecourse was filled with racegoers in attires graced with bow ties or bow-related elements, in support of the Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy “Gentlemen’s Bow Tie Raceday” 2019. Renowned actress Ms Natalie Tong and renowned actor Mr. Kenny Wong joined the management of Oriental Watch Company and The Hong Kong Jockey Club at the opening ceremony while Ms Jessica Jann, Ms Michelle Wai, Mr. Angus Yeung and Mr. Matthew Ho starred in a catwalk show as celebrity models. Among the prestigious guests were Mr. Adam Pak, Ms Panther Chan, Ms Rachel Leung, Mr. Zeno Koo, Mr. Himmy Wong, Ms Amanda Lui, Ms Gloria Yip and Rosemary Vandenbroucke.

 

Held after the Piaget Excellent Handicap and CORUM Excellent Handicap, the opening ceremony of Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy “Gentlemen’s Bow Tie Raceday” 2019 was commenced with a speech by Mr. Dennis Yeung, Managing Director of Oriental Watch Company Limited, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony officiated by Mr. Dennis Yeung, Mr. Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges, CEO of The Hong Kong Jockey Club, Ms Natalie Tong and Mr. Kenny Wong. After that, Dr. Yeung Ming Biu, Chairman of Oriental Watch Company Limited, Mrs. Yeung Ming Biu, Mrs. Clara Yeung, Mr. Choi Kwok Yum, Executive Director of Oriental Watch Company Limited, Mr Andrew Harding, Executive Director, Racing, and Mr. William Nader, Director of Racing Business and Operations of The Hong Kong Jockey Club, were invited on stage to join the officiating party for a toasting ceremony.

 

 

 

Mr. Kenny Wong attended the event in a stylish gentleman attire sponsored by Ascot Chang, Tailoring Partner of the event, with a spectacular H. Moser & Cie. timepiece on his wrist, while Ms Natalie Tong, in a charming, bow-inspired gown designed by renowned fashion designer Mr. Pius Cheung, matched with a Piaget timepiece. The duo graced the event as a perfect manifestation of elegance and glamour.

Following the tradition, attending guests were invited to indulge themselves with numerous activities such as the spirits and cigar stations on the balcony, a customized name writing service hosted by a professional calligrapher and a photo booth was set up in which stickers for messengers could be created with the photos that the guests had taken together with their selected prestigious timepiece.

 

Catwalk shows were also staged in the Parade Ring and then at The Jockey Club Box, featuring celebrity models Ms Jessica Jann, Ms Michelle Wai, Mr. Angus Yeung, Mr. Matthew Ho, and four models dressed in specially-designed haute couture featuring bow elements designed by reputable fashion designer Mr. Pius Cheung and classy gentleman attires sponsored by Tailoring Partner Ascot Chang. The eight prestigious timepieces on show were Miss Golden Bridge with snow-set diamonds by CORUM, Vanguard Crazy Hours Lady Asia Exclusive by FRANCK MULLER, Cat’s Eye Arabian Jasmin by Girard-Perregaux, SBGA211 by Grand Seiko, Endeavour Centre Seconds Diamonds Purity by H. Moser and Cie., Pilot’s Watch Double Chronograph TOP GUN Ceratanium by IWC Schaffhausen, Tonda 1950 Lune by PARMIGIANI FLEURIER, and Altiplano 40mm by Piaget.

Attending the event in chic and elegant attire, renowned actor Mr. Adam Pak was awarded the “Best Bow Tie Attire Award”, winning an exquisite FRANCK MULLER timepiece while the winner of the “Guess the Winning Horse” contest was awarded a Grand Seiko timepiece.  More, Mr. Dennis Yeung presented a H. Moser & Cie. timepiece to Mr. Kenny Wong as a gift for attending Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy “Gentlemen’s Bow Tie Raceday” 2019 with a gracious gentleman attire.

 

Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy “Gentlemen’s Bow Tie Raceday” 2019 presented 10 breath-taking horse races in the following sequence: Piaget Excellent Handicap, CORUM Excellent Handicap, Grand Seiko Excellent Handicap, FRANCK MULLER Excellent Handicap, PARMIGIANI FLEURIER Excellent Handicap, H. Moser & Cie. Excellent Handicap, The Premier Bowl, 2019 Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy, IWC Excellent Handicap, and Girard-Perregaux Excellent Handicap. The winner of 2019 Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy went to Rise High, and the horse owner Au-dela Syndicate was thrilled with the honour.
