Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy Gentlemen’s Bow Tie Raceday 2019

Oriental Watch Company will join hands with The Hong Kong Jockey Club once again to present the annual event – Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy Gentlemen’s Bow Tie Raceday, to be held on 20^th October 2019 at the Sha Tin Racecourse. Guests and the public are invited to attend the races in attires adorned with bow ties or bow-related elements to grace the event with elegance and glamour. To gracefully announce the return of this talk-of-the-town occasion, champion jockey Zac Purton was invited to kick off the campaign in his enchanting gentleman outfit, giving Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy Gentlemen’s Bow Tie Raceday a stylish and lively head start.

                      



Oriental Watch Company put forward “There is a Gentleman in Every Man” as this year’s theme and kicked off the campaign by featuring Hong Kong Champion Jockey Mr. Zac Purton in his enchanting gentleman outfit, giving Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy Gentlemen’s Bow Tie Raceday a stylish and lively head start. The promotional video and tram, bus body advertisements have launched lately to further promote the virtue of gentlemen to the larger public.

Originally a fascination for the beau monde, now one of the most popular events in the city, horseracing has a very long history in Sha Tin Trophy is not only a long-running recurring race, but also one of the most important races for each racing season. Rooted in Hong Kong for more than half a century as one of the most prominent watch retailers, Oriental Watch Company has been the title sponsor of the event since 2012. With the introduction of Gentlemen’s Bow Tie Raceday in 2015, the Raceday has further been transformed into a spectacular congregation full of style, class and glamour in which gentlemen and ladies clad in bow ties and bows for the occasion, each and everyone of them exuding the utmost grace and elegance. The slogan “There is a Gentleman in Every Man” refers to the noble and luxurious qualities inherent in everyone, awaiting for the opportune moment to unleash and impress.

Zac Purton, who has been crowned the Hong Kong Champion Jockey for three consecutive years, renders him the perfect embodiment of the slogan “There is a Gentleman in Every Man”. In addition to an impressive riding record, Purton is a charismatic gentleman as well as a dedicated husband and father. The jockey remarks, “The impression of my jockey attire at horseracing events serves as a common sight for everyone while dressing up in a suit and bow-tie fuels me with equal confidence. It is my belief that a true gentleman possesses immense substance and depth. Regardless the occasion and environment, he possesses extreme competence and endurance. I encounter many different challenges at each race that require me to tap the potential of the horses I ride. Time – matters of split seconds – makes the difference of winning and losing.”
