TORIC CHRONOMETER X ORIENTAL WATCH COMPANY SPECIAL EDITION

The Toric's aesthetic impact and unique character come from its bezel, which features a hand-knurled design based on the structure of a Doric column, the purest symbol of ancient Greek architecture.  The Toric and its bezel thus represent a convergence of the bonds that unite nature, mathematics and architectural geometry.  Knurling is a rare and distinctive art; it consists of manipulating the material with a wheel that leaves the imprint of its notches in the metal.  This work requires the craftsman to be both delicate and firm, as even a single imperfection will mean starting again from the beginning.  Each knurling design is unique, just like each Toric.

The new Toric Chronomètre has been redesigned with the dial in greyish blue opaline grained version, a skill that creates a captivating texture by hand-brushing the surface of the dial with a silver powder mixture. It is brought to life by two slender Javelin hands, a date, a very subtle minute track around the circumference, and Arabic numerals with proportions that emphasise this elegance.  The end of the strap and its attachment have been redesigned to reflect this and the lugs rendered more ergonomic, making it more comfortable to wear.

This special edition comes in red gold case, encloses the COSC-certified PF331 proprietary calibre, whose components have all been painstakingly decorated. Each Toric Chronomètre is unique and meets the most stringent standards for accuracy and reliability demanded by the Parmigiani Fleurier manufacture.

This exceptional timepiece is produced in a series of 8 numbered pieces and exclusively available at Oriental Watch Company’s flagship store at 100 Queen’s Road Central.

KALPA CHRONOR

PARMIGIANI FLEURIER has produced this complication on a tonneau-shaped movement for the first time that led to the creation of Kalpa Chronor.  The hand-polished 18K rose gold tonneau case houses the PF365 calibre – the world’s first solid gold integrated self-winding chronograph movement, which was developed and manufactured entirely in-house over the course of six years. The COSC-certified calibre oscillates at a frequency of 36,000 vph (5 Hz) to achieve a reading accuracy of one tenth of a second.  With a power reserve of approximately 65 hours, this Haute Horlogerie movement is equipped with a column wheel, vertical clutch and skeletonised bridges.  The calibre provides hour, minute, small seconds, chronograph functions with a tachymeter, and a date window.  At the back, a wide tonneau opening with a sapphire crystal on top showcases this new shaped movement, wound by an oscillating weight in 22K gold that features a barley grain guilloché motif.  The 18K gold bipartite dial in black is elegantly finished with an opaline centre, hand-worked braid-effect guilloché detail on the flange and snailed counters. Matched with a Hermès black alligator strap, this exceptional timepiece is produced in a series of 50 numbered pieces.

BUGATTI SUPER SPORT WHITE GOLD

Parmigiani Fleurier revolutionised the world of watchmaking by flipping all the mechanical components of the new calibre Bugatti PF 372 (power reserve of 10 days) onto a vertical axis, retaining the lateral time display so appreciated car drivers.  In a world premiere, Parmigiani has successfully developed a 90° time setting system – the dial is positioned perpendicular to the display axis (hours/minutes) – by integrating a system of double pinions with bevel gearing. Like the complete movement, this unique and complex mechanical system, which allows the time to be displayed on the side, has been entirely designed and created in the workshops of the Fleurier manufacture (VMF).

In addition, its dynamometric crown, perfectly integrated just above the profile, is one of the essential technical components in terms of the harmony of the model's aerodynamic lines. To retract the winding stem from its housing and make it accessible for setting, a slight pressure is sufficient.
