Trendsetters, Race-goers and Watch Connoisseurs Gathered for Celebration

Trendsetters, race-goers and watch connoisseurs all gathered at Sha Tin Racecourse on 21st October 2018 to celebrate the 2018 Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy “Gentlemen’s Bow Tie Raceday” in attires graced with bow ties or bow-related elements. Renowned actress Ms Nancy Wu and renowned actor Mr. Carlos Chan joined the representatives of Oriental Watch Company and The Hong Kong Jockey Club in officiating the kick-off ceremony while celebrities Ms Jessica Jann, Ms Kathy Yuen, Mr. Andrew Yuen, and Mr. Jeffery Lai starred in a catwalk show as celebrity models. Among the prestigious guests and attending celebrities were Mr. Stefan Wong, Ms Ada Pong, Ms Ankie Beilke, Ms Snowy Choi, Ms Sabrina Yeung, Ms Katherine Ho, Ms Gloria Yip, Mr. Chip Tsao, Dr. Albert Wong, MH, Mr. Edwin Ing, and Mr. Carson Chan.

 


                        


Held after the exciting opening race, Piaget Excellent Handicap, the kick-off ceremony was commenced with a speech by Mr. Dennis Yeung, Managing Director of Oriental Watch Holdings Limited, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony officiated by Mr. Dennis Yeung, Mr. Andrew Harding, Executive Director, Racing of The Hong Kong Jockey Club, Ms Nancy Wu and Mr. Carlos Chan. After that, Dr. Yeung Ming Biu, Chairman of Oriental Watch Holdings Limited, Mrs. Yeung, Mrs. Clara Yeung, Mr. Alain Lam and Mr. Choi Kwok Yum, Executive Directors of Oriental Watch Holdings Limited, and Mr. William Nader, Director of Racing Business and Operations of The Hong Kong Jockey Club, were invited on stage for a toasting ceremony to officially kick off the 2018 Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy “Gentlemen’s Bow Tie Raceday”. Mr. Carlos Chan attended the event in a stylish gentleman attire with a unique bow tie and an H. Moser & Cie. timepiece while Ms Nancy Wu showcased a Piaget timepiece to add to Mr. Carlos Chan’s splendour.

Following the tradition, the event was packed with a range of activities including a professional photographic studio, in which the guests can put on a prestigious timepiece for a studio-grade portrait, and spirits and cigar stations on the balcony. Catwalk shows were also staged in the Parade Ring and then at The Jockey Club Box. In the shows, celebrity models Ms Kathy Yuen, Mr. Andrew Yuen, Ms Jessica Jann, Mr. Jeffery Lai, and four other models dressed in specially-designed haute couture featuring bow elements designed by reputable fashion designer Mr. Pius Cheung and renowned menswear brand The Armoury, demonstrating eight prestigious timepieces, namely 1815 ANNUAL CALENDAR by A. Lange & Söhne, Golden Bridge Round 39mm by CORUM, Vanguard™ Lady Moonphase by FRANCK MULLER, SBGC223G by Grand Seiko, Endeavour Perpetual Moon Concept by H. Moser & Cie., Da Vinci Automatic Edition “150 Years” by IWC, Kalparisma Agenda Galaxy Limited Edition by PARMIGIANI FLEURIER, and Altiplano 900P by Piaget.

               

               

Attending the event in chic and elegant attire, Mr. Stefan Wong was awarded the “Best Bow Tie Attire Award”, winning an exquisite FRANCK MULLER timepiece while the winner of the “Guess the Winning Horse” contest was awarded a Grand Seiko timepiece.


2018 Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy “Gentlemen’s Bow Tie Raceday” presented ten breath-taking horse races in the following sequence: Piaget Excellent Handicap, PARMIGIANI FLEURIER Excellent Handicap, FRANCK MULLER Excellent Handicap, IWC Excellent Handicap, A. Lange & Söhne Excellent Handicap, H. Moser & Cie. Excellent Handicap, The Premier Bowl, the 2018 Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy, CORUM Excellent Handicap, and Grand Seiko Excellent Handicap. The winner of 2018 Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy went to Beauty Generation, and the horse owner Mr. Patrick Kwok was thrilled with the honour.
