Established in 1961, Oriental Watch Company is devoted to presenting luxurious timepieces to watch connoisseurs, while manifesting the philosophy of “Take Your Time” to inspire people to slow down and rediscover every beautiful moment in life. As a teaser to the “Kongkee: Warring States Cyberpunk” exhibition sponsored by Oriental Watch Company to be held from 9th December 2023 to 3rd March 2024 at Block 01 Duplex Studio, Tai Kwun, a sensational Time Travel Party was held in the evening of 8th December, featuring guest performers including popular singers Mr. Hung Ka Ho, Ms Kiri T and Ms Nancy Kwai, and up and coming star dancer Mr. Dave Li, alongside a full house of celebrities, including Mr. Phoebus Ng@P1X3L, Mr. George Au@P1X3L, Ms Rachel Leung, Mr. Karl Ting, Mr. Hugo Wong, Ms Tiffany Lau, Ms Cheronna Ng, Ms Nat Kwan, Ms Vivian Ma, Ms Faye Tsui and Mr. Christopher Sin, who completed their stylish outfits with exquisite timepieces.

Tai Kwun, the beating cultural heart of Hong Kong transformed from the Central Police Station compound consisting of three Declared Monuments, is the perfect venue for this exhibition and “Time Travel Party”. The event was commenced with captivating performances by renowned singers Ms Kiri T, who was graced with a FRANCK MULLER Vanguard Rose Skeleton Black Diamonds watch, Ms Nancy Kwai, who wore a PARMIGIANI FLEURIER Tonda PF Automatic watch, and Mr. Hung Ka Ho with a H. MOSER & CIE. Pioneer Centre Seconds watch on his wrist, eliciting rounds of applause.

Afterwards, the rising star dancer Mr. Dave Li, wearing a PARMIGIANI FLEURIER Tonda PF Micro-Rotor Platinum watch, performed an exciting breakdance performance, followed by an electrifying DJ music session featuring a DJ booth adorned with a neon sign of Oriental Watch Company, keeping the energy bubbling throughout the night.

Sponsored by Oriental Watch Company, animation director and visual artist Kongkee (a.k.a. KONG Khong-chang) is set to illuminate Tai Kwun with a fantastical psychedelic exhibition, transforming the Block 01 Duplex Studio from 9th December 2023 to 3rd March 2024 with an immersive narrative. Through the integration of animation, sound, and neon art, the exhibition “Kongkee: Warring States Cyberpunk” ponders alternative histories and tells a new tale about Qu Yuan (c. 339 BC to 278 BC), a legendary Chinese poet and statesman who lived 2,000 years ago, and whom the Dragon Boat festival celebrates every year. Qu Yuan in Kongkee’s imagination is resurrected, and subsequently catapulted from the ancient Kingdom of Wu into a dystopian future inspired by ancient Chinese poetry.
