The Essence of Oriental Watch Company

Our Rolex History

Established in 1961, the Oriental Watch Group is the first watch retailer listed on the Main Board of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (stock code: 398). Over the years, the Company has developed an extensive retail shop network in the Greater China area, and become one of the largest watch retailers in the region renowned of its reputation, credibility, and scale.

The Origin

Since Dr Yeung Ming Biu, Chairman of the Oriental Watch Group, and his fellow directors founded the first Oriental Watch Company in Des Voeux Road Central, Hong Kong, the Company has been expanding aggressively.

Acquisition

Through the acquisition of La Suisse Watch Company in 1973, the Company successfully acquired the distribution right of a number of top-tier international brands, including Rolex and Tudor.

Stock Exchange Listing

In 1993, the Company has commented dealing on the Main Board of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (stock code: 398) and became the first listed watch retailer in Hong Kong. Since then, the Company’s leading position in the industry was laid.

Expansion

The Company has started the watch retail business in Mainland China since 2004. Over the years, now the Company operates numerous outlets and Rolex & Tudor boutiques in 15 cities including Beijing, Changsha, Guangzhou, Guiyang, Nanjing, Shanghai, Shenyang etc.

The largest Rolex boutique in China was opened at 2011 located in Shanghai.
