“Gentlemen’s Bow-tie Day”

 

Trendsetters, watch enthusiasts and horse lovers all gathered at Sha Tin Racecourse on 25th October 2015 to celebrate the 2015 Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy “Gentlemen’s Bow-tie Day” in attires with bow-ties or bow elements. Ten Outstanding Young Person Alex Fong and renowned actress Eliza Sam joined the representatives of Oriental Watch Company and The Hong Kong Jockey Club in officiating the kick-off ceremony while actor Gregory Wong and singer and actress Elanne Kong participated in a catwalk show as celebrity models. Other attending celebrities included Mr. Jonathan Wong, Ms. Gloria Yip, Ms. Queenie Chu, Ms. Belinda Yan, Mr. Adrian Chau, Mr. Andrew Chan, Ms. Meiki Wong, Ms. Adrian Wong and Mr. Vince Ng.

 

The officiating ceremony was held after Race 1, the Bulgari Excellent Handicap. To commence the ceremony, Mr. Dennis Yeung, Managing Director of Oriental Watch Company, was invited on stage to deliver a speech, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony officiated by Mr. Dennis Yeung, Mr. Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges, CEO of The Hong Kong Jockey Club, Mr. Alex Fong and Ms. Eliza Sam, in celebration of the birth of first-ever “Gentlemen’s Bow-tie Day”. Afterwards, Dr. Yeung Ming Biu, Chairman of Oriental Watch Company, Mrs. Yeung Ming Biu, Mrs. Clara Yeung, Mr. William A. Nader, Executive Director, Racing of TheHong Kong Jockey Club, and Executive Directors of Oriental Watch Holdings Limited Mr. Alain Lam, Mr. Choi Kwok Yum and Mr. Fung Kwong Yiu were invited on stage to join the officiating party for a champagne toast that officially kicked off 2015 Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy “Gentlemen’s Bow-tie Day”. Alex Fong, who attended the event in a graceful attire, was presented a valued HK$ 218,000 H. Moser & Cie. Endeavour Big Date by Mr. Dennis Yeung, which graced his elegant outfit even further.

A series of performances and activities were staged including fascinating magic shows performed by award-winning magician John Fung, the spirits and cigar stations on the balcony, and the pop-up store featuringlimited-edition souvenirs designed by renowned local and overseas designers Suki Tsui, Ophelia Jacarini and Marc Allante specially for 2015 Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy “Gentlemen’s Bow-tie Day”. After Race 3, a magnificent catwalk show was staged in the Parade Ring then at The Jockey Club Box in which celebrity models Mr. Gregory Wong and Ms. Elanne Kong, and six other models dressed in specially-designed hautecouture featuring bow elements by reputable fashion designer Mr. Pius Cheung, demonstrated eight luxurious timepieces, namely the LVCEA by Bulgari, The Alacia Royal Rose by Carl F. Bucherer, the Vanguard byFRANCK MULLER, the Endeavour Small Seconds by H. Moser & Cie., the Rendez-Vous Moon by Jaeger-LeCoultre, the TONDA 1950 Flying Tourbillon by Parmigiani, the Limelight Tonneau by Piaget and theAcademy Christophe Colomb Hurricane – Grand Voyage II by Zenith. A series of contests were also staged along the day, bringing a lot of excitement among the guests. Renowned music talent, Mr. Jonathan Wong, who attended the event in chic gentleman’s attire, was awarded the “Best Dressed Award”, winning a spectacular FRANCK MULLER watch. The winner of the “Guess the Winning Horse” contest was awarded a Carl F. Bucherer timepiece.

 

2015 Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy presented ten blood-boiling horse races in the following sequence: Bulgari Excellent Handicap, Piaget Excellent Handicap, Carl F. Bucherer Excellent Handicap, Franck Muller Excellent Handicap, Parmigiani Excellent Handicap, H. Moser & Cie. Excellent Handicap, Jaeger-LeCoultre Excellent Handicap, The Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy Handicap, The Premier Bowl Handicap and last but not least the Zenith Excellent Handicap. The winner of 2015 Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy went to Contentment, and the horse owner Mr. Benson Lo Tak Wing was thrilled with the honour.
