2016 basel novelties exhibition

From July 1st to August 31st, a high-end Swiss watchmaker Zenith will host its exhibition to display the 2016 basel collections - at the Oriental Watch flagship store in Central QRC100, a series of new products including a vintage style watch, Heritage Pilot Ton-Up! El Primero Chronomaster Cohiba Edition, to celebrating the 50th anniversary of Cohiba; El Primero Chronomaster  Tour Auto Edition, with gentleman driver attitude; Elite Lady Moonphase 36mm, an anthem to femininity.

The Heritage Pilot Ton-Up is inspired by the ‘Café Racer’ bikers movement born in England in the 1920s. Zenith particularly displays a motorbike with sturdy style with a retro feel, to match with the highlighted piece. We welcome the watch fans to visit the Oriental Watch flagship store in Central QRC100.

Heritage Pilot Ton-Up

A new model with a strong character joins the Pilot collection from Zenith. Its broad 45 mm-diameter aged steel case houses a legendary movement – the automatic El Primero 4069 chronograph calibre – and displays a vintage dial boasting perfect readability. Its virile charm and well-built mechanism infuse it with the “Café Racer” spirit: when speed and getting away from it all are synonymous with independence and authenticity. A utilitarian appearance; attributes revamped to tear up the tarmac: the spirit of the Café Racer motorbikes is echoed in the engine of the Heritage Pilot Ton-Up. There is simply no room for anything superfluous here: technique, performance and precision are at the core of this legendary mechanical heart. In addition, large oversized luminescent Arabic numerals and a wide fluted screw-lock crown – take on a vintage character. The slate grey dial with a grained motif is punctuated by two counters and topped by a domed sapphire crystal. The facetted hands and numerals with their beige luminescent coating stand out clearly against the dial background, while the solid titanium back of the case, water-resistant to 100 metres, is engraved with the inscription “Café Racer Spirit”.

El Primero Chronomaster Cohiba Edition

Zenith is presenting a limited series of its legendary El Primero chronograph, with 50 watches in rose gold and 500 in stainless steel, all featuring a Havana brown dial and emblematic Cohiba motifs. A combination of elegance and technicality, the El Primero Chronomaster Cohiba Edition exudes a full-bodied fragrance tinged with daring and pleasure. As an exclusive “anniversary” El Primero Chronomaster Cohiba Edition by Zenith, its calibre impetuous 36,000 vibrations an hour cadence enabling a 1/10th of a second display, its COSC precision-certified chronometer and integrated column-wheel construction. The El Primero Chronomaster Cohiba Edition watch is presented in an exclusive wooden box in the colours of the legendary Habanos cigar.

El Primero Chronomaster Tour Auto Edition

Partner of the “Tour Auto Optic 2000” for the past two years, Zenith presents an exclusive series of 500 El Primero chronographs dedicated to this classic car rally raced on French soil. With its high-performance engine and its timeless sporty look, this legendary chronograph flies high the banner of a human-driven adventure brimming with thrills and technical feats. The El Primero Chronomaster Tour Auto Edition chronograph beats to the frantic rhythm of the race for performance and features correspondingly sleek, streamlined bodywork. Its high-performance mechanism is housed in a 42 mm-diameter brushed steel case featuring two round pushers and a fluted crown. Fitted with a domed sapphire crystal, the slender polished bezel provides a generous opening onto a slate grey dial decked out in vertical blue-white-red vertical stripes – a reference to the French rally banner. A natural born sports model with a fiery temperament, the El Primero Chronomaster Tour Auto Edition gives a final nod to the world of the French competition with its fabric strap also bearing tricolour stripes, secured by a stainless steel triple folding clasp.

Elite Lady Moonphase

Elite Lady Moonphase conveys its elegance through five variations made of 18K pink gold or stainless steel. The ultra-thin pebble-shaped 36 mm-diameter case, water-resistant to 50 metres, is fitted with a fluted crown enabling smooth moon-phase adjustments. It surrounded by a diamond-set or polished bezel, the pure mother-of-pearl dial is graced with a star-studded deep blue moon disc. Slender leaf-shaped hands sweep over stylised engraved hour-markers, or else slim Roman numerals on one of the versions.  The heart of this new ladies’ watch beats to the rhythm of the automatic Elite Calibre 692, entirely developed and crafted by Zenith. Bestowed with a more than 50-hour power reserve, this ultra-thin movement operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and comprising 195 parts – measuring an exceptionally slim 3.97 mm – powers indications of the hours, minutes, small seconds and moon phases. Exquisitely feminine in every detail, the Elite Lady Moon Phase is fitted with a glossy black or brown rubber-lined alligator leather strap secured by a stainless steel or pink gold pin buckle. These five new Elite references embody ageless elegance entirely in tune with the times.
